How I got into Glucose Monitoring

The first time I tried this I thought it was really weird. Even now I think it is quite bizzare. Whenever I am wearing a glucose monitor people say things like, "Oh, I didn't know you were diabetic?" And I am not and it is hard to explain to someone outside the biohacking community why I would want to stick a glucose monitor in my arm.

I want to live as long as possible with an active lifestyle. The things I've read about obesity and glucose resistance terrify me. From my understanding of how the biology works, the more you eat sugary and high carb meals the more resistant your body becomes to the insulin that it produces. Once a week or so is fine, but everyday over weeks and months and years results in type 2 diabetes. It's that simple. I worry about it for myself, my mother, my father, my family and friends.
